electrical feedthrough

Electrical feedthroughs are used to transmit electrical signals or currents into the vacuum system. This achieved by embedding a wire in a ceramic insulation which, in turn, is connected to the flange. A simple feedthrough for high currents is shown here.

Electrical feedthroughs come in many different varieties, for high voltage, high current, shielded, multi-pin and so on.
